Unsalted roasted pecans exist for a specific reason. Pretty much every baking recipe that calls for "pecans" assumes unsalted, because the recipe is adding its own salt already (or in the case of pecan pie and pralines, deliberately skipping salt to let the sugar and butter dominate). A salted pecan thrown into pecan pie makes the filling taste muddled. Same with granola, cookies, and most breakfast bakes. Why Unsalted (And Why Roasted)

Unsalted matters if you're cooking or baking with pecans rather than just snacking.
