Roasted salted Brazil nuts are the snacking format of one of the most nutritionally dense foods in the world. Most Americans encounter Brazil nuts only once a year inside a holiday mixed-nut assortment, which is a shame because roasted and lightly salted, they're one of the best cocktail-hour, game-day, and office-snack-bowl additions available. Bigger than almonds, meatier than cashews, with a distinctive buttery-creamy flavor once the oils activate from roasting. Ours are packed fresh in Monroe, NY in a resealable bulk bag, OU kosher certified, sourced primarily from Bolivian Amazon forests which produce about half the world's commercial Brazil nut supply.

Why Roasted Salted Brazil Nuts Work Different Than Raw
Two different products, two different use cases.
Raw Brazil nuts (we carry those separately) are the selenium-supplementation format. Eat 1-2 whole kernels per day for their mineral content. Earthy, slightly grassy flavor. Raw preserves the maximum selenium density.
Roasted salted Brazil nuts (this product) are the snacking format. Roasting activates the natural oils and deepens the flavor into something buttery and creamy. The salt rounds out the mineral-forward profile and makes them pair naturally with beer, cocktails, cheese boards, and cocktail-hour spreads. You'll eat more of them than raw kernels by volume, and that's fine for occasional snacking.
One note: if you're eating Brazil nuts specifically for selenium supplementation, stick with raw. Even roasted Brazil nuts retain high selenium (roughly 85-90% of raw), which means a full snacking handful still delivers multiple days of selenium in one sitting. For daily intake control, raw 1-2 nuts per day is the right dose. For snacking enjoyment, roasted salted is what you want.

The carb content (1g net carbs) makes these one of the most keto-friendly roasted salted snack nuts available. Macadamias are lower at 1.5g but similar profile. Brazil nuts deliver significantly more protein and mineral content per serving than macadamias.
One caution: a full 1 oz serving of Brazil nuts still delivers more than five times the daily selenium requirement. Snacking 1-2 nuts at a time is fine. Eating half the bag in one sitting over multiple days can push toward selenium toxicity (symptoms include brittle nails, hair loss, GI issues). Moderation matters with Brazil nuts in a way it doesn't with almonds or cashews.
General nutrition info. Talk to a registered dietitian for specific advice, especially if managing a thyroid condition or taking medication that interacts with selenium.
How People Use Roasted Salted Brazil Nuts
Cocktail hour snack. Larger and meatier than almonds or cashews. Pairs especially well with gin, whisky, and darker beers. One of the better standalone snack nuts for a cocktail spread.
Office snack bowl. Mix with roasted salted cashews and almonds for a mixed-nut snack bowl that includes Brazil nuts without making them the focus.
Bar mix component. Chopped roasted salted Brazil nuts fold into premium bar mix alongside pretzels, peanuts, and sesame sticks.
Cheese board pairing. Brazil nuts work especially well with aged cheddar, blue cheese, and strong cheeses where the buttery nut flavor complements the pungent cheese.
Chocolate-covered Brazil nuts. A classic confection. Our Kremery line carries chocolate-covered Brazil nuts in select gift assortments.
Game day and football watching. Larger nut size makes Brazil nuts feel more substantial than standard game-day mixed nuts.
Trail mix upgrade. Replace standard almonds or cashews with roasted salted Brazil nuts for a more filling, more nutrient-dense trail mix.
Why Bolivian Sourcing Matters
Bolivia produces about 50% of global Brazil nut supply. Most Bolivian Brazil nuts are wild-harvested from Amazon rainforest trees (not plantation-grown) by indigenous communities and smallholder cooperatives. This wild-harvest model is one of the few tree-nut supply chains that actively incentivizes keeping rainforest standing, since harvesting wild Brazil nut trees requires the trees to stay alive.
Storage
After opening, refrigerate if you won't finish within 2-3 months. Brazil nuts go rancid faster than almonds or cashews due to their polyunsaturated fat content. Fresh roasted Brazil nuts smell buttery and slightly sweet. Rancid ones smell sharp and paint-like.
